Terms of Service

1. The service
WeMemi is an application for your computer (macOS and Windows) and your phone (iPhone and Android) that stores and organizes your personal context and life archive locally on your device, plus optional paid subscription features (multi-device use and sync, encrypted cloud backup, sharing life events with other users). By downloading the app or purchasing a subscription you agree to these terms.
Chat and your own API keys. If you use Chat, you connect it to a model provider with your own API key. Your use of that provider — what it charges you, how it handles what you send, and the content it returns, including images — is governed by your agreement with that provider, not by these terms. An API account with a provider is separate from a subscription to that provider's own chat app. Cost figures shown in the app are estimates; your provider's bill is the record.
2. Your data
Your content stays on your device and remains yours. We claim no ownership of, and take no license to, anything you store in WeMemi. If you share a life event with another user, it travels between your devices end-to-end encrypted — directly wherever the two machines can reach each other, and otherwise through an encrypted relay we run that forwards traffic it holds no key for. We store none of it and cannot read it; you are responsible for what you share and with whom, and a copy you have shared is under the recipient's control on their device. If you connect third-party accounts (such as Google or Microsoft), your use of those services remains governed by their own terms.
3. Subscriptions & billing
- Paid plans (Pro, Pro Plus, Ultra) can be bought on our website, billed monthly or annually via Stripe, or in the iPhone app through Apple's In-App Purchase. Prices are shown on the pricing page, or in the app, at time of purchase; prices in the iPhone app may differ from the website.
- A plan bought either way belongs to your WeMemi account and unlocks it on every device you use, up to your plan's device limit.
- A plan bought on the website can be cancelled anytime from your account page; your plan remains active until the end of the paid period.
- A plan bought in the iPhone app is billed, renewed, cancelled and refunded by Apple under Apple's terms: manage or cancel it in your Apple account's subscription settings, and ask Apple for any refund. We cannot cancel or refund an Apple purchase for you.
- Device limits per plan are enforced by the app; you can deregister devices yourself from within the app.
- If a payment fails, paid features enter a grace period (for Apple purchases, Apple's own billing grace period) before reverting to the Free tier. Your local data is never touched.
- Deleting your account cancels a website subscription immediately. It cannot cancel an Apple subscription — cancel that in your Apple account settings as well.
4. Acceptable use
Don't use WeMemi to break the law, infringe others' rights, or attempt to compromise the service or other users. Don't redistribute the app or resell subscriptions without written permission.
5. Software license
The WeMemi application, on computer and phone, is licensed to you, not sold — a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use it on the number of devices your plan allows.
If you downloaded the app from the Apple App Store or Google Play, that store's own terms also apply to your download and use of it. These terms are between you and us, not Apple or Google: we alone are responsible for the app, its content, its maintenance and support, and any claims about it.
6. Disclaimers
The software is provided "as is". To the maximum extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties and are not liable for indirect or consequential damages. Our total liability is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before a claim. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited.
7. Changes & termination
We may update these terms; material changes will be posted on this page with an updated date. You may stop using the service at any time. We may suspend service for breach of these terms.
